The importance of being a CFESA Certified Company

In every industry, there is a standard of excellence. The Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) is that standard for the commercial food equipment service industry.  They have been around since 1963 and are the trade association for the parts distribution and service of foodservice equipment in North America. 

RSI has been a CFESA member since 1994. Maintaining CFESA certified status takes effort from the service companies. CFESA certified status isn’t handed out to everyone that wants it.

To be a part of the best, you must meet certain standards.

CFESA requires certified companies to have all their technicians up-to date on their training for the brands we service. Not just any training, factory training. That means our technicians are being trained by the best-of-the-best in the industry. Along with factory training, CFESA also has their own standardized testing. Each technician must pass in the fields of refrigeration, gas, electric and steam in order to be certified.

RSI invests a lot of money annually to ensure our customers receive only the best service by knowledgeable, well trained technicians.

A CFESA certified company must also be in good standing with the factories, parts distributors, and dealers. You must be active within the foodservice industry and maintain honest and fair business practices.

How often is a company recertified by CFESA?

Once you are a CFESA certified company, you must recertify every three years in order to maintain your certification.  CFESA sets the bar high and only the best get to keep the status.

Being a part of CFESA has opened a lot of doors for RSI. It has allowed us the opportunity to build relationships with other service companies in North America and share best practices and bounce ideas off each other. It has also helped us to connect with the factories and parts distributors. We have built relationships within the industry that we may not have had the opportunity to do otherwise.
